In a bid to cushion the high cost of fuel, the Oke Umurhohwo Foundation on Saturday, June 8 supported 200 commercial drivers with its ‘Free Fuel Initiative’ in Ekuigbo, Ughelli area of Delta State.
The initiative which was organised in celebration of the founder’s birthday, Hon. Oke Umurhohwo on May 5, provided the crucial support to 200 commercial drivers in the community.
This was disclosed by Hon. Umurhohwo on X, formerly Twitter on Saturday.
According to him, the ‘plan’ was geared towards relieving the financial strain on commercial drivers in Ughelli.
Umurhohwo, who is also the Marketing Manager of Itel, West Africa and President of Ughelli Rovers Football Club participated in the ‘fuel distribution’ – and expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for the turnout.
He stressed that the initiative is one of the avenues the Foundation aims to give back to the society – and commended the Foundation’s team for their outstanding efforts.
The President of Ughelli Rovers stated that he is looking forward to future initiatives to uplift and support the people.
The marketing expert also said that the initiative highlights the Foundation’s dedication to social responsibility and community support.
He reiterated his commitment to introducing development that will help to mitigate the economic challenges in Nigeria saying; “moving forward, the Foundation remains committed to implementing programs that address important needs, fostering solidarity and mutual aid.”
The Oke Umurhohwo Foundation, a non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization was founded in 2019 – and it is committed to enhancing the quality of life of Nigerians by supporting initiatives that improve access to health, financial education and equality.
